Thought I'd try to provide another place for comments, feedback, and suggestions for the club, its activities, its people, and its website. So if anyone actually reads this, feel free to post.

If I remember correctly, this was originally the backup forum and meant to be temporary. Then there were those few years when the website effectively didn't exist and folks lost the practice of checking it for news (not that there ever was very much). It's been less than a year since the website was reborn. Hopefully, should the club administration and club practices stabilize, the forum (and/or blog) will have regular use.

It would be very nice for people (like me) who can't make it to club meetings very often.

Of course, active forums require active posters. It would kinda suck if only 2 or 3 people are the only ones carrying a discussion in here.
If we could get people registered without having to go through The Spatula, then I think a big barrier to registration would be taken care of. The next part would be getting people to know this place exists.

The reason I did it that way for a while was because of all of the spam that would show up. I'll open it up again to self-registration if you think that that's one of the main problems for people joining in. I just have to make sure to administer the boards more often, but that's a small price to pay.

I will join in any active discussions - I haven't been posting new stuff lately because of work and seeming lack of interest.

As for letting people know this place exists, I'll try to advertise it a bit more.

Well, I'm not really a beast, and I wasn't really sleeping - just busy. Also, I spatulas don't speak - I just use my psychic powers to type on the keyboard as I don't have any hands.

oh, I didn't realize more people replied.

I never liked Facebook discussion boards.
Mostly for the fact that I can't put images on it or be able to quote multiple people in a post without having to go back and copy/paste.

Also, if The Spatula needs help with forum moderation/spam control, I'd be glad to help out.

There hasn't been much activity here so I only check a couple times a week. If it was more active or there were more problems I'd check more often.

Thanks for the offer. Things are kind of slow here so I don't think it'll be necessary, but I'll definitely take you up on it if I need help. I updated the database and other backend stuff so it seems like spam is mostly stopped for now.
